•  Recovery classes are Yin Style Yoga Flow classes, a series of restorative asanas (poses), sequenced to gently open, stretch and massage tired, overworked, or stressed muscles and deep connective tissues. The practise will provide many  benefits including increased focus and well being, less stress, better sleep, greater flexibility and strength, longer breath, along with rejuvenated energy and improved health.

  • Restorative Yoga improves alignment, (providing strength), relaxes stressed and overworked muscles, (providing increased energy), releases stress from deep tissues, (providing restored  joint function), and allows the mind to rest, focus and recharge. The asanas (poses) can be supported with props and bolsters, providing total comfort and relaxation, for the mind and the body; OR the poses can be modified to incorporate the use of walls to invert the poses. Both approaches provide the skeletal frame long periods of time, combined with mindful commitment,  allowing complete mind/muscle relaxation, resulting in  proper alignment of joints,(spinal column) proper flow of energy to deep tissue, and complete release  of stress.
  • Hatha classes are a sequence of poses, or Vinyassa Flow, which provides the student with increased flexibility, strength and mindful body awareness. Hatha practise will warm up the muscles, instead of resting the muscles, increase muscular elasticity and strengthen skeletal alignment. A good stretch and a good workout!
  • Ashtanga Yoga is a journey of the breath, continuous movement, and traditional asanas. The length of the pose is determined by the length of the breath and the number of breaths. The poses are connected through a flow of movement, the direction of breath, and the direction of the vision, are as important as the correct physical alignment of the pose.  The participant can expect to generate significant core energy and heat, a strong physical workout, and a great release from stress.

  • Vinyasa Yoga is a Hatha based series of asanas, where the connecting movement between asanas are intrinsic to the practice.  The practice will flow with a logical progression through a  series of asanas in a designed  sequence to open specific areas of the body and allow the mind to explore the body and the inner self as the participant moves through the series
  • Senior Chair Yoga classes are offered for the residents at Threelinks Care Centre (Volunteer Program). These classes provide a yoga approach toward movement, agility and balance, for participants who have limitations, and are unable to bring themselves to the floor.  The exercise and companionship increase wellbeing and flexibility.
